James P Burnett
Atty. James P. Burnett, a 1976 graduate of Marquette University Law School is a past director,
member and seminar lecturer for the Wisconsin Association for Justice. Attorney Burnett is a
member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and past member of the Board of Professional Responsibility of Wisconsin.
Attorney Burnett specializes in litigation with an emphasis on personal injury. He is an AV rating
for ethical standards and legal ability in litigation which is the highest rating available by Martindale-
Jim and his wife, Kathy, live in New Holstein. They have three children and five grandchildren.
Attorney Burnett has been active in the community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Calumet Medical Center, Chilton, Wisconsin, a member of the Industrial Ad-Hoc/Revolving Loan Fund Committee for the City of New Holstein and a member of the Finance Committee for Holy Rosary Parish, New Holstein, Wisconsin.
Atty. Derek McDermott is a 1977 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School and a member of the State Bar and Calumet County Bar Association (past president). He joined the firm in 1977. He focuses his area of practice in business planning and transactions, real estate transactions, estate and trust planning, and municipal law. Derek has served as city attorney for Chilton for many years and has been a frequent lecturer at area seminars on such topics as business and estate planning.
Derek lives in Chilton with his wife, Susan. They have three children and four grandchildren. Derek is active in a number of community civic organizations: Chilton Lions Club (past president and treasurer); Chiton Area Community Foundation (chair); New Hope Center (vice chair); United Fund of Chilton (board member and past president); and the Chilton Chamber of Commerce (past president and board member). These and other volunteer activities garnered Derek the Chilton Chamber of Commerce’s Distinguished Citizen in the Year in 2006.
Atty. Gary Jahn is a 1988 graduate of Ohio Northern Law School. He has been a member of the firm since 1988. His areas of practice include: family law, general litigation, personal injury law,
criminal/traffic law and municipal law. Attorney Jahn is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin,
Calumet County Bar Association (past president), and is on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin
Association for Justice.
Gary lives in Chilton with his wife, Tricia. They have two children.
Gary sits on the Ledge View Nature Center Endowment Committee and has volunteered in coaching numerous youth sports teams in Chilton. He has also served on the Board of Elders for his church.
Andrew J. King
Atty. Andrew J. King is a 1991 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School and member
of the State of Wisconsin and Calumet County Bar Association (past president). He joined the firm
in 1991. He focuses his area of practice in business planning and transactions, tax law, real estate
transactions, estate and trust planning and municipal law.
Andy lives in Sherwood with his wife, Lori. They have two children.
Atty. Mark DesRochers is a 1990 graduate of Marquette Law School. He is a member of the
Wisconsin Association for Justice, the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Calumet County Bar Association
and the Illinois State Bar Association. As an experienced appellate advocator, Mark has argued
cases before the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He is also a certified paralegal instructor who regularly
teaches courses in civil litigation and business law. He focuses his areas of practice on personal injury, workers compensation, creditor law, insurance law and general civil litigation.
Mark lives in Darboy with his wife, Kathy. They have three children.
Mark has been active in many community organizations, and currently serves as Vice-Chair for the Board of Directors of Fox Valley Lutheran Homes and on the Trust Committee at First English
Atty. Carlos A. Hernandez, a recent graduate of Marquette University Law School grew up in the town of Rockland, south of De Pere and is very excited about practicing law close to his roots.
He recently married his best friend, Adriene, who is a Physical Therapist in Green Bay. Carlos enjoys
hunting, fishing, woodworking and boating on the Fox River as well as various other hobbies. He
is excited to explore the Chilton community and familiarize himself with the people of the area.
He focuses his area of practice in real estate transactions, estate and trust planning, municipal law, and business planning and transactions.
